Sue Ann Meek

Sue Ann Bullard Meek was born on November 29th, 1944, to Vernon and Minnie Bergner Bullard of Texhoma, Oklahoma. She passed away peacefully on the evening of May 5th, 2023, surrounded by beloved family.

Sue joyfully welcomed her younger sister, Jan Lea Bullard Flanagan, in 1949. She graduated from Texhoma High School and attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University, where she met her future husband, and graduated in 1967. Sue married John David Meek on May 27th, 1967, and their son John was born on June 8th, 1970.

A lifelong educator, Sue taught in various elementary schools in Yukon and Griggs, OK, and Hugoton, KS. Over the course of a career of 40 years, Sue touched the lives of countless students. Sue enjoyed her time with Delta Kappa Gamma where she fellowshipped with other women educators.

Sue is survived by David Meek, her husband of 56 years, of Duncan, OK. Son John and wife Kimberly of Duncan, OK. Grandchildren Logan Meek of Oklahoma City, OK, Riley Meek of Thornton, CO, Robert Elkins of Fort Smith, AR, and Catherine Elkins of Arlington, VA. Sister Jan Flanagan of Texhoma, OK. Nephews Sean Flanagan, his wife Chandra, their children Allison and Aidan of Huntsville, AL, Brian Flanagan, his wife Robin, their children Carrie and Owen, of Texhoma, OK. Along with countless cousins and friends.

Sue loved to follow her grandchildren's events and accomplishments as well as cheering on her Oklahoma Sooners football and softball teams
