Sandra Nell Dacus

Sandra Nell Dacus, 78, of Duncan passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015 in the Wilkins Nursing Center. Graveside funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday in the Fort Sill National Veterans Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 6-8 on Tuesday. Sandra was born March 6, 1937 at Phillips, Oklahoma the daughter of Lester Clarence and Lillie (Williams) Leonard. She and James Harvey Dacus were married at Temple, Texas on December 28, 1984 and he preceded her in death on November 4, 2014. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge since 1968 and the Duncan Chapter 18 for 22 years and a life time member the VFW Post 1192 Auxillary. She enjoyed doing needle point, making things for her family and scrap booking. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Survivors include two daughters Lillie Susan Hughes of Duncan and Lois Ann Taylor of Ridgecrest, California; five grandchildren Annette Ploss and her husband Jeff and Sean Hughes and his wife Kim both of Duncan, Colleen Bruce and her husband Garrett, Jessica Winslow and Diana Taylor all of Ridgecrest, California and great grandchildren Christopher Hughes, Kyle Ploss, Alie Sandra Ploss, Aiden Bruce, Morwynn Bruce and Dean Winslow, Kaylee Anderson and her husband Zack and Britany Woods.
