On December 24, 2020, Patsy Jean Nimmo passed away in Elk City, Oklahoma. Pat was born on October 6, 1931 in Konawa, Oklahoma to James Richard and Effie Jewel Walker. Pat graduated from Konawa High School in 1949. She married Ron Nimmo on September 2, 1949. They were married for 64 years. Pat started her career in hospital administration at the county hospital in Kermit, Texas and then at Physician and Surgeons Hospital in Duncan. When the hospitals in Duncan merged, she worked at the newly formed Duncan Regional Hospital as the personnel director until her retirement in 1990 after 27 years. After retirement, she worked at H & R Block in Duncan preparing taxes for 12 years. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Warren Walker and Dr. Don Walker and her husband. Pat is survived by three children, Richard Nimmo and his wife Donna of Duncan, Ron Nimmo and his wife Melissa of Mebane, North Carolina, Cathy Hooper and her husband Steve of Elk City. She is survived by six grandchildren, Jim Nimmo of Rockwall, Texas, Jamie Creel of Yukon, Holly Hooper-Stover of Elk City, Emily Myers of Mebane, North Carolina, Matt Hooper of Moore and Ryan Nimmo of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by two brothers Bill Walker of Newcastle and Ed Walker of Atoka, 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pat will be laid to rest at a graveside service on Wednesday, December 30th at 2:00 p.m. in Duncan Cemetery. Service are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.
