Mary Elida Reed

Mary Elida (Houston) Reed, 85 of Comanche passed from this life Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at her home in Comanche with her family by her side.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Comanche with Tom Greenwood officiating. The services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.

Mary was born August 3, 1937 in Belleville, Illinois the daughter of Clent O. and Mary (Gaffko) Houston. She and Allen Elon Reed were married in Austin, Texas on September 8, 1979. She raised and trained Arabian Horses and loved spending time with her family.She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Lisa Greenwood.

Survivors include her husband Allen Elon Reed of the home in Comanche, Oklahoma; children Steven Eric Maercklein and wife Pamela of Austin, Texas, Valery Carroll and husband Scott of Cedar Park, Texas, Mark Reed of Cameron Park, California and Rochele Coyle and husband Bill of Parkville, Missouri; brothers and sister Ed Houston of Idaho, Clint Houston of Oregon and Kathy of Illinois and three grandchildren Joseph, Jordan, and Jeremy.
