Marvin Cox, 69, of Duncan passed away from this life Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at his home in Duncan.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in the Freedom Biker Church with Reverend Billy Morgan and Reverend Billy Rowell officiating. Interment will follow in the Ft. Sill National Cemetery with escort by the Patriot Guard and Military Honors to be conferred by the Stephens County Honor Team. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.
Viewing will be held prior to the service 8:30 to 9:45 on Tuesday at the Freedom Biker Church.
Marvin was born February 18, 1954 in Duncan, Oklahoma, the son of Marvin and Dorthy (Richardson) Cox. He graduated from the Duncan High School in 1972. He received an Associates Degree in management while serving in the United States Air Force and later received an Associate's Degree in Non Destructive Testing. While in the Air Force he work the space program, space shuttle recovery team and recovered the space shuttle Columbia at White Sands, New Mexico. He was selected for the B-2 Stealth program EC79 support and F-17 Stealth Fighter Bright Star 82 rapid deployment task force. He and Nelda Bilbrey were married in Bentonville, Arkansas on October 26, 2003. He enjoyed Wood woodworking, hunting, fishing and bowling. He was a faithful member of the Freedom Biker Church. He was preceded in death by his father and son Shawn Wayne Cox.
Survivors include his wife Nelda Cox of the home in Duncan, Oklahoma;his mother Dorthy Cox of Virginia; children Joseph Keith Cox and wife Jennifer of Chanhassen, Minnesota, Jessica Chen Thonack and husband Doug of Chaska, Minnesota; David Randal Morgan and wife Lara of Duncan, Oklahoma and Kimberly Diane Hughes of Duncan, Oklahoma; sisters Lynda Douthitt of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, Debra Cox of Duncan, Oklahoma and Tena Campbell and husband Jeff of Forest, Virginia; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Barnes, Kenneth Qualls, Jordan Barnes, Kenny Ratke, Duane Hurwitz and Walter Keithley.
