Obituary for Joyce (Joy) Marie Youngblood Lister

October 28, 1945 ~~ June 27, 2023 77 years old

Born October 28, 1945, to Cecil and Rita Youngblood. Joy was born, raised and lived all her life in Duncan, Oklahoma. With numerous family members visiting this past week, Joy gained her Angel Wings on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in Duncan, OK.

The family visitation will be on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 5pm-7pm at Bailes Polk Funeral Home in Duncan, OK. Funeral services will be Friday, June 30 2023 at 10am at Bailes Polk Funeral Home with Mike Sweetman and Ron Stough officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery with Ron Stough officiating the graveside. Serving as pallbearers Joy's grandsons, Jade Suson, Aaron Suson, Preston McCormick, Nick Witte, Dylan Sweetman, Tai Le, Tyler Dunn, and Cole Snyder.

Married to Eugene Lister - March 1, 1965; they were married 30 years until Eugene passed on March 15, 1995. They were blessed with 3 Daughters Sandy Nunn, Glenda Sweetman, and Tammy Tackel. Preceded her in death, their son David Eugene.

Joy graduated from Duncan Senior High School - May 1964. Her employment through the years included: Clyde Berry's Restaurant; raised her children and babysat many others; Service Master, cleaning offices; Duncan Banner, paper routes for 17 years; Market Basket/Super H, in the bakery; Home Health/Care Giver; and lastly Walmart, in Radio Grill and the Door Greeter for 10.5 years, Retiring in 2008.

Joy was a member of Eastside Church of Christ. She loved attending all the school events and sport activities of her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was able to travel to California, Florida, and Ireland with the Comanche Band and Choir with grandchildren Jade and Sarah. After retiring, she enjoyed going Beautiful Day Widow Dinners every month. Joy also enjoyed watching soap operas, westerns, and Hallmark Movies with her sister Pat and daughters; Going to Walmart to visit with previous coworkers, her classmates, church members - anyone she would see, she loved to visit with.

Survived by: Sister Patsy Gray; Brother Kenny and Mary Youngblood; Sister-in-law Dee Lister; Daughters Sandy and Steve Nunn; Glenda and Mike Sweetman, Tammy Tackel; Grandchildren Jade Suson & Tai Le, Aaron Suson, Sarah & Tyler Dunn, Preston McCormick, Nick & Taylor Witte, Melinda Tackel, Mika Sweetman, Hannah & Cole Snyder, Dylan Sweetman, Emily Tackel, Colton & Bre Nunn; Great Grandchildren Gabe, Mason, Izzy, and Maddox Dunn; Kimber McCormick; Mina Nunn; Wilder (Buddy) Bills; Maeve Witte
