Jimmie Gray

Jimmie L. Gray, 79, of Oklahoma City, a former, long-time Duncan resident, passed away Tuesday February 7, 2023, at his home. Services will be on Saturday, February 11, at 2pm at the Ray of Hope Church, Comanche, OK, with Reverend Mike McCord officiating. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.

Jim was born March 15, 1943, the son of James E. Gray and Wynema (Gray) Thomas. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1961, attended Southern Methodist University then returned to Duncan to marry the love of his life, Glenna Gray on August 22, 1964. He was well-known in the community for providing years of family fun as the owner of the Holiday Bowl and then the Roller Express. He then served as Vice-President and President of Universal Fidelity Life Insurance. He loved his Pantera sports car and his many road trips with his "car buddies". He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and spent countless hours carrying bags through the mall for his girls, attending piano recitals, bowling tournaments, and skating meets for his kids, and watching his grandsons play drums, football, basketball, and baseball.

He was proceeded in death by his grandmother and grandfather, Ernest and Thelma Noblett, his father James E. Gray, his wife Glenna Gray, his brother Mike Gray, and his brother Lynn Thomas. He is survived by his mother Wynema Thomas, son Jimmie L. Gray II and his wife Christina of Lawton, OK, his daughters Courtney Montgomery and her husband Branden of Norman, OK, and Diane Houseman and her husband Todd of Dunlap, IL; his brothers Jerry Gray and his wife Kathy of Hilo, HI and Joe Gray of Stillwater, OK, and his sister Sandy Cote of Owasso, OK; his grandchildren and the pride of his life, Nicholas Gray, Jackson Montgomery, Kallen Montgomery, Grayson McGuire, Sarah Warner, Levi Houseman, Sam Stephens, and two great grandchildren.
