HMCS, Homer Carroll Perry, U.S. Navy Retired, 77, of Duncan passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 in the Oklahoma Veterans Center at Sulphur, Oklahoma. Services will be 11:00 AM Friday in the Victory Baptist Church with Reverend Russell Tuck officiating. Interment will be in the Fort Sill National Veterans Cemetery at Elgin, Oklahoma under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. The service will be escorted to Fort Sill National Cemetery by the Patriot Guard and the Stephens County Combined Honors Team will Confer Military Full Military Honors. The Family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 6-8 PM on Thursday. Homer was born August 23, 1935 at Arkadephia, Arkansas the son of Homer "Duck" and Eva Ruth (Sellers) Perry. He graduated from the Manuel High and Vocational School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1952. He and Wilma Couch were married at Las Vegas, Nevada on March 20, 1966. He came to the Duncan area in 1966 from the Treasure Island Naval Station. He served in the United States Army for two years and the served 22 years in the United States Navy and after retiring from the Navy served 12 years in the Merchant Marines. He served in the Korean Conflict, Vietnam and Dessert Storm.. He attended the Victory Baptist Church and was a member of the Chief Petty Officers Mess of Duncan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Freddie Harold Perry. Survivors include his wife Wilma of the home; two sons Johnny Perry and his wife Deana of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Jimmy Perry of Fort Worth, Texas as will as numerous friends.
