Helen Louise Walters

Helen Louise Walters, 83, of Velma passed from this life Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at her home in Velma. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the Alma Cemetery with Reverend Rocky Keck officiating. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. There will be no viewing at the funeral home. Helen was born September 19, 1937 in Alderson, Oklahoma the daughter of Elija and Rosie Ella (Avery) Adams. She and married Joel F. Bench at Poteau, Oklahoma on April 2, 1955 and she later married Jack Walters in California on June 27, 1987 and she was preceded in by both. She worked as a waitress, enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, fishing but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was also preceded in death by her parents sons Freddie Bench, Jr. and Jackie Earl Bench, a great grandchild, brother Alvin Sanders and sister Rosena Williams. Survivors include her sons Jerry Bench and wife Carolyn of County Line, Oklahoma and Larry Bench of Velma, Oklahoma; grandchildren Becky Keenan of Alma, Oklahoma, Beverly Hoggard and husband Milo of Ratliff City, Oklahoma, Misty Dawn Bench, Joshua Bench of South Carolina and Kevin Bench of California and several great grandchildren.
