George Johnson

Dr. George Charles Johnson, Jr., 75, of Duncan passed from this life Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in the Oklahoma Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Saturday at the Stephens County Worship Center with Reverend Russ Stewart officiating. Cremation services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.

Inurnment will be Monday, September 19, 2022 in the Ft. Sill National Veterans Cemetery. Services will be escorted by the Patriot Guard and Military Honors will be Conferred by the Stephens County Funeral Honors Team.

George was born February 8, 1947 in Marshalltown, Iowa the son of George Charles Johnson, Sr. and Marlus (Allen) Johnson. He and Pauline " Mickey" Stewart were married September 2, 1967 in Monrovia, California. He was preceded in death by his parents , Elisha Sokol (grandson) and six siblings.

Survivors include his wife Pauline "Mickey" Johnson of the home in Duncan, Oklahoma; daughters Christine Sokol and husband Joe of Des Moines, Iowa, Amber Mejia and husband Chris of Ft. Worth, Texas and Kate Bell and husband Kurtis of Duncan, Oklahoma; grandchildren Drew Sokol, McKenzie Sokol, Luke Sokol, David Mejia, Angel Mejia, Melodee Sokol, Kaitlyn Stubblefield, Ezekial Bell and Elianna Bell and 10 great grandchildren.
