Dianna Cowan

Dianna "Sis" June Cowan, 73, of Velma, Oklahoma passed away from this life Saturday, April 20, 2024, in Duncan Regional Hospital. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at the New Velma Cemetery with Mike Johnston officiating. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at Bailes-Polk Funeral Home from 5:30-7:30 PM.

Sis was born December 3, 1950, in Duncan, Oklahoma, the daughter of Hugh Cowan Jr. and Ethel (Jones) Cowan. She graduated from Velma-Alma High School in 1968. She worked as a childcare provider, which she enjoyed greatly. She loved spending time with all her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. One of her favorite things to do was to watch the kids at all the ballgames, rodeos, and school activities. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Joe, Mickey and Danny.

Survivors include Vauda Cowan, sister-in-law of Ada, nieces and nephews include; JoAnn Ille and husband Jason of Velma, Krissie Gordon and husband Andy of Comanche, Chad Cowan and wife Jenny of Velma, BJ Cowan and wife Stephanie of Norman, David Cowan and wife Anita of Fayetteville, AR, Denisa Douthit and husband Ken of Noel, MO, Carrie Scates and husband Mark of Prairie Grove, AR, Kristi Wilson and husband Buddy of Sanger, TX, Kyle Williams and wife Emily of Norman, great nieces and nephews include; Dylan Gordon, Colt Gordon, Strait Ille, Shain Ille, Gracie Cowan, Sadie Cowan, Katie Painter, Jackson Cowan, Tori Cowan, Jacob Cowan, Hunter Douthit, Ethan Scates, Carter Scates, Malachi Scates, Dannie George, Jolie Gordon, Twister Wilson, Ryder Williams, and Logan Williams.

Pallbearers include BJ Cowan, Chad Cowan, Kyle Williams, Dylan Gordon, Colt Gordon, Strait Ille, Jackson Cowan, Andy Gordon, Jason Ille
