Calvin Brown

Calvin Levert Brown, 79, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024 in the Duncan Regional Hospital.

Calvin was born March 18, 1945 in Charolette, North Carolina the son of Roy and Luneal (Anderson) Brown. He was raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey. As a youth he enjoyed playing basketball. He served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He married the love of his life Marilyn Stevenson at Wichita Falls, Texas January 7, 1980. He worked for Mobile Oil Company as a rig hand and later worked for the Duncan Cemetery. He enjoyed playing the drums and piano, playing cards and dominoes, playing golf and spending time with his family. He always enjoyed having fun. He was a faithful member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church as long as his health allowed. He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, birth mother Frances Anderson Johnson and brother Donald Johnson.

Survivors include his wife Marilyn Brown of the home in Duncan, Oklahoma; son Cheves Brown of Duncan, Oklahoma and daughter LaShae Davis of Duncan, Oklahoma; grandson Melchezedic Chez Crocket of the home in Duncan, Oklahoma and God grandson Gavin McGee of Duncan, Oklahoma.
